This home is a collection of bold spaces - tremendously distinct in their own materiality, color palettes and function but flow seamlessly into one another to create an eclectic and free spirited environment. Art takes front and centre in this home- framed intentionally with a mix of brass and wooden borders. Each corner features a distinct art piece around which the furniture, lighting and furnishings are collected and placed- almost like a physical three dimensional frame to frame each art piece. Layering runs as a theme through the space- such as in the flooring wherein hardwood floors merge into checkered limestone tiles, as well as in the selection of upholstery where solid textured velvets mingle with hand woven ikats to create a bold pattern play. The lights, custom made by local artisans in and around Delhi, celebrate organic materials like rattan, raffia and Indian intricate wood carvings. The bar front is made up of carved wood panels CNC-cut and polished to contrast the Italian marble stone counter. The outdoor room features hand painted murals in tones of deep blues to bring out an Indian sensibility in the space.
