Punjabi Bagh Club, New Delhi
Built around the familiarity of an all-day diner, the restaurant draws inspiration from classic American diners, reinterpreting their convivial booth seating and casual ease for a contemporary audience. The brief sought to move away from occasion-led dining towards a more relaxed, everyday setting—one that felt naturally at home within the context of Punjabi Bagh Club. Its poolside location encourages spontaneous visits, whether for a post-swim snack, an afternoon coffee, or leisurely lounging through the day. The design language is intentionally modern, playful, and slightly quirky. The brand’s signature red becomes the defining visual thread, appearing across upholstered seating, glazed wall tiles, terrazzo tabletops, shelving details, and decorative lighting. Given its intensity, the palette is balanced with grounding greys and warm neutrals, allowing the colour to remain expressive without overwhelming the space. Variations in tone—from muted brownish hues to vivid scarlets—lend depth and freshness while reinforcing the brand identity. Graphic branding plays an integral role in the interiors, with dedicated moments created for signage, illustrations, and visual interventions to seamlessly extend the brand experience into the built environment. The result is a cheerful and approachable café that feels equally suited to a quick bite, a lingering conversation, or an unplanned pause in the day.
